Description

Katla fra Stenslund is a truly fantastic mare with many qualities! She has fine gaits with rhythmic and well-separated movements at all speeds. Her movements are average, but with more training, strength, and balance, she will easily be able to compete at B-level and possibly in 5.1 classes, as she has good pace quality. She has participated in two competitions, where she performed excellently. She has competed both alone and together with other horses in the arena. Katla has also participated in some of our trail rides (at Gl. Klitgaard Camping) and has handled different riders with ease. I have used her both as a lead horse and as a backstop on rides. Katla has medium willingness, though on trail rides she can show slightly above medium energy. She loves to work but always stops when asked! She is fully controllable and not afraid of anything (except our kangaroos — but they do eat horses after all 🤣). She might look at new things but is never truly scared. Katla previously had a bit of separation anxiety, but this is no longer an issue. She can stand alone in the stable, in the box, and travel alone in the trailer, although she does prefer having a buddy. At competitions, she may call out a few times but can stand alone in the paddock without any problems. Additionally, she loads easily into the trailer but can get a bit impatient if not driven off soon after loading. In the pasture, she is mid-rank in the herd hierarchy. She loves her friends but is not aggressive. She is easy to catch and often walks toward you in the field. Katla has never been sick or had any health issues, and she is fully up to date with everything. Katla is an exciting horse if you want a partner that can do a bit of everything or if you're looking for a horse that will always give you a good ride — every time.
