Lára is an incredibly charming, positive, and beautiful mare with great potential, both for riding and breeding. She was born in 2018, is 7 years old, and measures 138 cm, but is strong and robustly built. Lára is a 4-gaited mare with good, clear-beated gaits and elegant movements. Her tölt can already be ridden in several speeds and, although she still needs some support, with further training, balance, and strength it will become very good. She shows nice suspension in her trot, and both her walk and canter are of good quality. She has a temperament slightly above average – always eager to work and willing to please, yet with a reliable “off switch.” For this reason, she is best suited to a rider with some experience. Lára has not been ridden consistently for her age, as she has had two foals without any problems. This also makes her an excellent candidate as a broodmare. With her pedigree, there is plenty of quality to breed on: M: Líf frá Litlu-Brekku – dam of 4 evaluated offspring, of which 3 are 1st prize (total scores 8.34, 8.24, and 8.15). F: Sægrímur frá Bergi – evaluated with a total of 8.75 (8.83 for ridden abilities and 8.61 for conformation). During the summer, Lára has been used as a lead horse for trail rides, and she loves going out into nature, both alone and in groups. She is uncomplicated in daily handling, easy with the farrier, loads well, and stands calmly for saddling. Lára has mild sweet itch, which is easily managed with a rug.
